Hi there

Hi there, I’m Sophie

I believe that feeling truly seen, heard and understood can change a lot. I want therapy with me to feel like a place where you can show up as yourself, be honest, and feel supported without judgment.

How I work

My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative and grounded in curiosity. You are the expert on your own life. I'm here to walk alongside you: to listen, ask thoughtful questions, offer new perspectives, and help you find what feels right for you.

Who I work with

Individuals, couples and families navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, communication struggles, self-worth and personal growth. I especially enjoy working with couples who are preparing for marriage and want to build a strong foundation together.

What it feels like

Therapy can hold both the hard moments and the lighter ones. I bring warmth, humor and a little lightness into the room, because sometimes a laugh makes the hard parts feel a bit easier.

The license

What LMFTA means

“Supervision is a standard part of the license.”

LMFTA is the credential for a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. In Washington, it's the license a therapist holds after earning a master's degree, while completing supervised clinical hours toward full licensure as a marriage and family therapist.

My Washington credential number is MG61427349, and I practice under the supervision of Ali Sokolow. Supervision is a standard part of the license and a professional safeguard for the people I work with.

What does LMFTA mean for a therapist?

It stands for Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. It's a Washington license for therapists who have completed a master's degree and are working under a qualified supervisor while they complete the clinical hours needed for full licensure.

What does it mean that you work under supervision?

It means I meet regularly with an experienced supervisor, Ali Sokolow, to review my clinical work, which is a standard requirement of my license. Your privacy is still protected. Supervision happens within the same professional confidentiality rules that apply to therapy itself.

What is your approach to therapy?

Warm, genuine, collaborative and curious. I don't hand you a script. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions and offer new perspectives, and you decide what feels right for you. With couples, I also draw on my Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy training.

What is it like to work with you?

I hope it feels like talking with someone who really gets it. I take your struggles seriously, and I also believe there's room for warmth and a little humor. Hard conversations often get a bit easier when you can laugh together now and then.

You don't have to have it all figured out. We can start right where you are.
